The clouds pulled over, the sky darkened, and shadows cast from the trees of central park, growing taller and larger on the ground. Slowly, Sally tilted her head to the sky, sceptical, worried...Please don’t – and there it was; before she could even finish her trail of thought, a splash of water dropped onto her forehead between her eyes – rain... Sally closed her eyes and brought her head back down to look before her. Okay, that was just one little drop, maybe it would take some time to start, in which case she could get back to Broadway before having to trudge through the doors like a drowned rat. She hadn’t even taken her umbrella out with her. She’d just intended to nip across the park to get a coffee on a little lunch break, before heading back to the theatre. She knew she should have been more prepared. Oh well... With a glance to the sky she walked on just pleading and hoping. It had been lovely earlier, crisp and clear, while she had been inside the theatre, in the dark rooms that trapped out light. The red head was very pale and it was no wonder why when she spent so much of her time indoors, locked away from view from the world and its general inhabitants. But Sally didn’t mind in the case of her work. She loved her work indeed and she’d never trade her job for the world. It was such a sought after job, one that not many had the opportunity to be involved in and by chance she had found herself in the coveted industry and she wasn’t about to throw that away any time soon. Coffee in hand she sipped the warm beverage as another drop of rain fell onto her head...then another, and another, and another until the rain was falling down in glittering droplets, staining the concrete below her feet darker and darker as well as splashing down onto her dark coat so far keeping her sheltered. And without any more consideration, Sally broke into a run through the park. Well, run as much as one could in high heels. Hands out at her sides for balance, Sally used her heels like a pro, little clicks of steps elegantly rushing for shelter. The rain fell heavier and harder, a storm brewing as Sally glanced at the sky ahead of her worriedly, she hated storms...Just so long as there was no thunder and lightning... Since she could remember lightening had always scared her, the creator and destroyer, it could bring her to life across the portal, it could take it away and she had never had any inclination to try the same out in this world. Being stuck outside in a potential thunderstorm was not her idea of fun. But maybe it wouldnt come to that. It could just be a little fall of rain, a small shower of sparkling droplets across the earth and before she knew it it could be over. But till then she was becoming drenched with every passing second. Sally voiced a squeal of escape as she ran for the bridge to shelter her safely. Splashes of coffee mixed with that of the rain on her hands as the liquid bobbed up through the drinking slot of the lidded cup. Her hair fell flatter against her face covering her eyes and slowly obstructing her view. Sally puffed at the strands but they were too wet to be shifted and so with a little shake of her head she tried to force them out of her way, too occupied otherwise with finding shelter and before she could react, the clearing of her sight brought into it another figure that she was instantly crashing right into. Arms parted to avoid throwing coffee over the stranger but instead her arms awkwardly hugged around the individual as they collided. Sally’s eyes grew wide. “Oh my goodness!...I am sorry, so so sorry!" she pulled herself back from her unintentional embrace of the unfortunate passer by,"I was um...I didn’t mean...Sorry” she stuttered in her panic not really sure what to say to the poor unsuspecting person and feeling rather embarrassed herself. The rain poured down on her heavier now and she flickered her attention to the sky in fear of a strike of lightening any time soon. She needed to head for shelter somewhere at least. Looking up towards the sky Damien wasn't sure what the hell the weather was getting itself into. It was insane, honestly. One week it was blizzard weather and everyone was shivering in the frigid negative temperature to being sunny and spring-like the next. Now, now it was debating whether it wanted to rain or not. Of all the times, he just wanted to enjoy being outside for once. Being cooped up in the small apartment complex that he recently moved into, he wasn't use to always having a shelter. Of always being safe from the harsh nature elements. It was one thing to find your own place when you didn't have a place, it was completely different to always have that safe place to hide.

As it was, he was stuck outside and blocks away from the shelter of his apartment. With a shrug of his shoulders he only grinned as the thought of accepting the challenge of playing hide-and-seek with nature again brought a smug smirk to his lips. Where was the fun in being safe all the time?

Continuing his walk through the park, he watched as mothers quickly gathered their children and urged them to leave, promising them the comforts of chocolate or some toy they've been begging for. They wouldn't know what to do if they were in his shoes. Wouldn't have a clue at all. Glancing up as the first drop fell on his head, he only grinned and gave the sky a "come at me" look as he took note of a bridge just ahead. He could chill under there for awhile, maybe put some new sketches in his book while he was at it.

Besides, wasn't like he was going to end up running into anyone he knew.

Flipping the hood of his jacket up, he was encased in his tunnel vision when another force he hadn't seen came colliding into him. Stumbling back as the rain started to pour down harder, Damien let out a strangled noise as arms were wrapped around him, his own coming up to brace the other person to keep them and himself from falling as well. Who the fuck thought it was a bright idea to run in the middle of a heavy rain? "What the fuck?," he started as the other person pulled back and started apologizing.

Tossing his hood back, he looked into the pale eyes of the woman before him, brows furrowing together as she stuttered. "Watch where in the hell you're going lady." It didn't matter that his hair was being matted to his face, that the rain was running down his cheeks and getting into his shirt. He had been ran into and was not at all pleased.

The idea that people enjoyed standing about in the rain baffled her completely. Why did people find it so endearing to just hang about and wait for a storm? From behind a window pane this was perfectly acceptable but out in the middle of the action…she just did not understand it. To get caught in rain was inevitable at some point but the sky overhead looked like it may do more than just rain and that thought alone shook fear in her. It was thus nothing short of an immediate decision that she should run for shelter only she hadn’t meant to intrude on someone’s strange habits. Each to their own and all that, of course, but that didn’t mean she understood their interests. At least the stranger engaged in the embrace that stopped them toppling over together; at least one of them had been paying attention. Sally played a deaf ear to the cursing from the gentleman – not that he was much of a gentleman but she probably didn’t look much herself right now in her rain matted dress that clung to her frame just as her hair too clung to the sides of her face – and pushed herself back at the same time as her unfortunate wanderer. He wasn’t happy. It didn’t take an empath to read that much. Sally looked sheepishly down at the ground, momentarily forgetting about the rain falling heavily upon them now, before she snapped back to awareness of her surroundings and her heart fluttered with panic a little once more. The drowned doll had already immediately stuttered and stumbled over an apology as her thoughts took every other direction. “I don’t like storms – sorry! That’s not an excuse for running into you I know, nothing is much of an excuse but I do sincerely apologise” and she did sound sincere whether the stranger cared or not. Pale, fearful eyes flashed a warning look up at the pouring rain in hope that was as much as it came to. “Sorry for interrupting your um…your walk… I’ll – it was….” Sally smiled as she paused to collect her wandering worries, “Have a lovely – “ and at that moment a rumble of thunder crashed across the sky with a following lightening bolt of dread that lit the sky at the same time it ripped apart Sally’s calm composure. She jumped as if on cue, unintentionally taking hold of the man’s arm as if he might protect her (she’d already devised, however, he probably wouldn’t and that was perhaps the wrong response to unintentionally make) but even though she didn’t pride herself for the outwardly extent of her fear, she couldn’t not respond to the crumbling sky. Grumbling under his breath as the rain poured down around them, Damien grew even more irritated as the girl started stammering again. Trying to apologize and make amends for what happened. Rolling his eyes, he threw his hood back up, ignoring the fact that he was still wet and continuing to get soaked to the bone. He'd been in worse, and at least it was crashing lightning like some of these freak Spring storms did.

"If you don't care for storms then maybe you should watch this brand new thing people call 'The News.' I know it might be a strange fucking concept but it's apparently suppose to tell you when it will or won't rain. Besides, it's not even storming. It's just some fucking rain. It won't hurt you for Christ's sake." Wrinkling his nose, he crossed his arms before him as she tried, once again, to apologize and attempt to walk off.

Good riddance.

At least, she was planning on it. Apparently the weather was listening to them and decided to fuck them both over as a loud roll of thunder broke the sky and the shattering sound of lightning crashing make her panic and cling to him. Tensing the arm she was clinging to, he pinched the bridge of his nose to keep from jerking away from her. "Oh for fucks sake. Fine. Come on you damned female."

Wrapping his arms around her wrist, he practically dragged her from where they were standing to the hideaway of the bridge he was planning on taking shelter under just moments before. Letting her hand go, he let his backpack fall to the ground before looking at her with narrowed eyes. "Of all the damn things I'm stuck doing, it's babysitting. Great. Just great." Unzipping his hoodie, he peeled it off and tossed it over his backpack as he took to attempting to wring his hair out some. "The hell are you doing outside anyways if you're so terrified of shit?" Some people man. Some. People.

Sighing, he saw the fearful expression of her face, another face taking it's place as the sigh turned into a groan. She wasn't even fucking here and she still had an effect on him. "Look. Are you alright? Because it's seriously just a storm. It's not like you're going to melt, or that you're going to come undone. Just rain. So." Kicking some old papers out of the way, he made himself comfortable on the ground before he gestured with his head, "I'd suggest getting comfortable. Unless you'd rather go back out there." That was about the nicest thing he was planning on doing for the month.
